4-star hotel near Canal de Brienne with comic strip decor and bicycle rentals
Amenities
Hotel De Brienne offers free parking for guests who book directly, a rare find in central Toulouse. The 24-hour front desk provides currency exchange, car rental, and dry cleaning services alongside a responsive staff with local knowledge. Guests can borrow bicycles to explore the city or use the airport shuttle stop located next to the hotel.
Rooms
All 77 rooms feature a contemporary style with comic strip chairs and art installations, a deliberate departure from generic minimalist hotels. Each room includes an LCD TV with international channels, a minibar, and free WiFi, while some suites offer a private terrace with city views. The junior suite provides a spacious layout, and single rooms are noted for being surprisingly generous in size.
Location
The hotel sits 400 meters from Compans Caffarelli Metro Station and a 5-minute walk from Toulouse Congress Centre, next to Toulouse Business School. It is a 15-minute walk to Place du Capitole and the old streets near Garonne Theatre, with Pierre Baudis Japanese Garden and Canal de Brienne immediately adjacent. Tholus Urban Park and Saint-Raymond Museum are also within walking distance for cultural exploration.
Dining
A buffet breakfast is served daily, featuring fresh and local products, with options for continental breakfast delivered to guest rooms. The Design Bar 'Le Patio' offers a quiet outdoor terrace where guests can enjoy an aperitif before dinner at nearby restaurants. Coffee house on site and wine/champagne are available, with a breakfast that includes a variety of choices such as cold meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, and a hot section.
Family & Pet-Friendly
The hotel provides family rooms with diverse configurations, including triple rooms with a foldable single bed and suites that accommodate two adults and a child. Dogs are welcome with a single charge for the entire stay, and the staff offers water bowls upon arrival. Bicycle rental allows families to explore the canal-side paths and city center together.

“This establishment presents a notably quiet and well-maintained environment, with rooms that feel both fresh and secure, and staff who are consistently helpful. Its positioning allows for a comfortable walk to the city center, and the breakfast spread, particularly the fresh juices and fruit, merits attention. I'd consider it a strong option should I find myself in Toulouse again.”
